The Forbidden City
The Forbidden City was the site of the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties where the emperor exercised his supreme power and where the royal family lived. Having been the imperial palace for five centuries, the Forbidden City is the largest and most complete antique timberwork constructions in the world. The Great Wall
The Great Wall is 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles) long, and was built during the War States period. The Great Wall embodies the sweat and wisdom of our Chinese ancestors. The Temple of Heaven
The Temple of Heaven used to be the place where the emperors came to offer sacrifices and pray for good harvests. The Hall of Prayer for Harvest in the Temple of Heaven is the most stunning single piece of architecture in Beijing and has become a symbol of the city. The Summer Palace
The Summer Palace is the archetypal Chinese garden, and is ranked amongst the most noted and classical gardens of the world. The Summer Palace occupying an area of 294 hectares (726.5 acres), is the best protected royal park. Reference ticket price: CNY 30 Yuan (about 3 Euro or 4.50 U. S. Dollars).



The Ming Tombs
The Ming Tombs are located 50 Kilometers northwest from Beijing City. The Ming Tombs are the name commonly given to the mausoleums of the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). The 13 mausoleums are an architectural complex is a complete system of enormous size and full grandeur. Reference ticket price: CNY 45 Yuan (about 4.5 Euro or 6.80 U. S. Dollars).



Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian
Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian is located at the foot of Longgu Mountain in Fangshan District southwest of Beijing. In 1929, archaeologists discovered the first complete skull of the Peking Ape-man who lived there 500,000 years ago; a discovery that shook up the world of paleoanthropology.
